Wildfire Shield™ Components

Major Components of the Wildfire Shield™ System

  Controller

  • LCD Console: User interface displays current status of system and allows user to program and operate systemWildfire Shield™ System - Controller
  • Telephone interface: Allows user to monitor, program, test and operate system remotely by telephone or computer
  • Computer serial interface: Allows user to easily monitor, program, test and operate system
  • Internet interface: Allows user to monitor, control, test and operate system remotely
  • Wireless receiver: Receives status data from wireless photonic detector transmitters

Alarm: Warns occupants of system activation

Electric actuated ball valve(s): Controlled by controller to activate system for fire emergency or irrigation

Submersible electric pump: Distributes water from cistern around and on top of structure in fire emergency or irrigation modes

Surfactant injection pump: Injects Class-A fire suppression additive from storage container into discharge manifold at a predetermined ratio of additive to water to create fire suppression solution, which is biodegradable and needs no clean up

Water storage cistern: Stores water below frost line for use in fire emergencies or irrigation. Refills automatically from water utility or well supply.

Irrigation distribution: Buried sprinkler heads and distribution piping distribute fire suppression solution or water around and on top of structure and surrounding terrain. In irrigation mode, sprinkler heads on top of structure are deactivated.

Wireless photonic detectors: Strategically placed detectors on outside of structure constantly look for the UV signature of fire communicating their status continuously to controller

Outdoor humidity and temperature sensor: Constantly monitors outdoor humidity and temperature, providing information to controller

LHD cable: When temperature reaches a predetermined set point, cable notifies controller of condition

Wildfire Shield UPSUPS: Consists of either batteries, power inverter, battery charger/conditioner, and transformer (shown at right) or propane-fueled generator to provide power to critical power distribution panel in case of power outage

Automatic transfer switch: Switches automatically to UPS during power failure and back again during power restoration (default position)

Outdoor IP Cameras: Allows real-time remote monitoring of surrounding terrain through our Internet software link package

Thermostat (optional): Provides precise temperature control for heating, ventilating and air conditioning locally or remotely

Wildfire Shield Photonic Sensor

  • IR/UV Photonic Sensor can detect fire at ¼ mile
